Muffuletta is betta’ when paired with Charles R Barbera – our July Wine of the Month!

It’s been called a “meat and cheese masterpiece…” You (muffu)letta me tell you about this perfect pairing!

For our July wine of the month food pairing, we worked with our friends at Salt Craft bakery, and were lucky to indulge in their out-of-this-world muffuletta sando, piled high with fresh meats, cheese and olives – all on fresh baked bread. 

Like all the best Italian food and wine partnerships, the richness of the fat and salt combo on this beastly sammie was a great compliment to our fruit forward Barbera.  The firm acidity cut right through this sandwich and made bite after bite more enjoyable than the last.

The unexpected surprise was the mini blueberry pie we had for dessert.  Truth be told, there was some table-side tension about whether or not it was the sandwich or the pie that made the Barbera shine brighter…both were so good!
