What a difference a year makes! Barreled wines can show us a small glimpse into the future of what to expect from a certain wine. We see the wild fruit, acid and tannin soften and integrate over time to eventually reveal a layered, complex and polished gem. The exciting part is to check in on these wines along the way and see the different paths they may take. Enjoy these two barrels and compare this “baby” 2021 to the more evolved “adolescent” 2020. The only real difference between these two is simply time.

Layered and complex – Blackberry bramble, green coffee bean, tobacco leaf and bakers chocolate. These tannins have the texture of suede, with a rich lingering finish.

In process of building complexity. You may note a bold front of blueberry, boysenberry, butterscotch and chocolate ganache. These independent layers are held by mouthwatering tannins with a richer, darker, and longer finish.
